You know when you step inside a luxury hotel and can immediately feel the level of service and attention around you before you’ve even checked in? Rosewood London was exactly that kind of place. From the impeccably dressed bellhops waiting outside to the incredibly attentive staff throughout the hotel, everything about the experience felt unapologetically five-star.
The hotel doesn’t shy away from its grandeur either — high ceilings, a marble staircase like no other, dark woods and beautifully designed interiors make the entire property feel undeniably luxurious from the moment you arrive. Despite its scale, though, it never felt cold or overly formal. There’s still a warmth to the atmosphere that makes it feel somewhere you genuinely want to spend time rather than simply pass through.
THE ROOMS
I stayed in the Grand Executive King Suite, which honestly felt more like a beautifully designed London apartment than a hotel room. High ceilings, warm lighting and classic interiors gave the space such a calm atmosphere, while the marble bathroom and generous living area made everything feel effortlessly luxurious.
The bed itself was dangerously comfortable — the kind you sink into after a long day in London and immediately start questioning whether you actually need dinner reservations after all. And yes, the pillows were embroidered with my initials. That’s the level of attention to detail we’re talking about here. Even with London moving constantly outside below, the suite somehow felt completely quiet and cocooned away from it all. It’s one of those rooms that makes checking out feel genuinely offensive.
FOOD & DRINK
One of the highlights of staying at Rosewood London is how much attention goes into the dining experiences across the property. One evening I ordered room service to the suite, which felt particularly special within the setting of the room itself — crisp white linen, warm lighting and the kind of atmosphere that makes staying in feel just as exciting as going out.
The following morning, breakfast at Holborn Dining Room completely lived up to its reputation. The restaurant itself feels timeless; warm leather banquettes, softer lighting and the quiet buzz of one of London’s most iconic hotel dining rooms. During my visit, I was also lucky enough to have a small glimpse inside the famous Pie Room, watching the bakers carefully crafting both sweet and savoury pies behind the scenes. Seeing that level of craftsmanship and detail up close made the experience feel even more memorable.
THINGS TO DO
One evening I had a reservation at Scarfes Bar, tucked within the hotel itself. Camera’s weren’t allowed inside, which honestly added to the atmosphere even more — everyone felt fully present in the space rather than focused on documenting it, but of course I took one or two messy snaps when no one was looking. Between live jazz performances beside the roaring fireplace, beautifully made non-alcoholic cocktails and smaller bar snacks shared throughout the evening, it ended up being one of the most special parts of the stay.
Rosewood London also places you in an ideal location for exploring central London. Covent Garden, Soho, the Thames and many of the city’s galleries and restaurants are all within easy reach, though the hotel itself genuinely feels like somewhere you could disappear into for an entire weekend without needing to leave very often.
