Quiet garden hideaway tucked away in the heart of Kensington.
A sister property to Borneta, Templeton Garden has the same foundation as all Miiro properties. It is one of those places you don't quite expect to find in central London. Hidden behind a row of classic Kensington townhouses, it has a stillness to it that's genuinely hard to come by this close to the city. The interiors lean into a softer, more residential feel, nothing overly designed or performative; and everything is centred around a private garden that sets the pace for your whole stay. You come back after a long day in the city, and there's just something about it that makes you exhale.
THE ROOMS
Understated is probably the best word for the rooms here, and it's meant entirely as a compliment. Neutral tones, layered textures, natural materials, it's a quieter kind of luxury. Some rooms look out over the garden, others feel more cocooned from the city outside, and the lighting shifts so naturally throughout the day that the whole space feels different by evening. The beds are excellent. And staying in for the night starts to feel just as appealing as heading back out.
FOOD & DRINK
Breakfast and dinner are both served at the hotel's own restaurant, Pippin's — and it's worth knowing about before you go. The menu champions British ingredients alongside herbs grown in the hotel's own garden, with seasonal dishes that balance familiar flavours and something a little more well-travelled. The dining room is understated and elegant, looking out over the garden, and the whole thing is set up for exactly the kind of unhurried meal that you expect from the rest of the hotel.
Breakfast here is slow in the best way. Fresh pastries, piping hot tea, and that garden view before the city has properly woken up — it's a genuinely lovely way to start a morning. And in the evenings, Pippin's makes staying in for dinner an easy decision. More intimate than you'd find at a larger London property, with lighting and interiors that make it easy to linger well past the last course.
The garden itself is something else. It's rare to find a space that feels this secluded in Zone 1. Whether you're sitting outside with a drink as the evening cools down or just stepping out mid-afternoon to escape the noise for a bit, it really does change the texture of your stay.
THINGS TO DO
Kensington is a good neighbourhood to land in. The streets are quieter and more walkable than a lot of central London, and there's a real mix nearby — independent cafés, boutiques, galleries, and restaurants without having to go far. Hyde Park, Notting Hill and South Kensington are all easily reachable on foot or within a short journey, and the area holds onto that distinctly residential feel even with everything on its doorstep.
Back at the hotel, there are a couple of spots worth knowing about. The gym is a great little escape — compact but well thought through, with high-end NOHRD equipment finished in beautiful warm wood that feels more like a wellness studio than your average hotel fitness room. And then there's the Library, tucked into the lobby: floor-to-ceiling books, a thoughtful mix of fiction and non-fiction, and the kind of quiet corner that makes it very easy to lose an hour or two without meaning to.
